The competition show, which featured Demi Lovato, Paulina Rubio, Kelly Rowland and Simon Cowell as judges, has been fired after the coronation of Alex and Sierra as winners of season three.
"I had a fantastic time in the last 12 years in both The Factor X and American Idol," shared Simon in a statement.
He continued, "And besides being lucky enough to find some amazing talent in the shows, I have always had an incredible welcome from the American public (most of the time!).
Last year, for a number of reasons, I had to make the decision to return to the British version of The Factor X in 2014. So for now, I'm back to the UK and I want to thank Fox for being a great partner and I also want to thank everyone who has supported my shows. America, see you soon!. "
